EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY

As a Catholic educational Institution, La Consolacion University Philippines(LCUP) believes that a true Augustinian-Marian person has a commitment to Christ-centered prophetic witnesssing, manifested through a spirit of national and global concern for the larger community, the Church, country, and the world.

LCUP, rooted in Gospel values and inspired by the teachings of St. Augustine and the life of Our Lady of Consolation, aims for the holistic development of individuals responsive to the evolving need of the society.


VISION STATEMENT

Moved by the Spirit of the Risen Christ, La Consolacion University Philippines, rooted in Gospel values as a Catholic Augustinian-Marian institution, envisions to become a catalyst for the holistic transformation of all persons and communities.


MISSION STATEMENT

LCUP commits to generate and make available to all persons and communities programs and services that will enable them to:

  • • exhibit academic and technical competence in their respective areas of discipline in the local and international environment;
  • • demonstrate their knowledge, critical thinking and creativity by exploring the various avenues of learning and searching for truth;
  • • live Gospel values in the varied aspects of their personal and professional lives;
  • • manifest their willingness to serve specially the marginalized sector of our society;
  • • demonstrate productivity in various areas of learning as respnsible stewards of our common home and society; and
  • • develop individuals who are resilient, inclusive, and responsive to the socio-economic realities of the Philippines and the complexities of the global environment.


INSTITUTIONAL GOALS

  • • To provide basic and higher formal and innovative education programs that are nationalist/globalist in character and responsive to international standards of responsive excellence.
  • • To generate and diffuse knowledge in the broad range of disciplines relevant and receptive to the dynamically changing domestic and international environment.
  • • To promote the Catholic Augustinian-Marian culture of commitment to charity, compassion, action-contemplation, and preferential option towards the marginalized sector of society, including those with diverse needs, and the promotion of justice, peace, creation spirituality, and gender equality.
  • • To broaden the access of deserving and qualified students to higher education opportunities.
  • • To optimize the social, institutional, and individual benefits derived from the utilizaion of educational resources through sustainable practices.
  • • To develop and maintain the professional and personal integrity among the members of the community that will equip the nation with responsible and accountable stewards.
  • • To foster inclusive and adaptive learning environments that prepare individuals for emerging green and digital economies, while strengthening their resilience, innovation, and commitment to social justice.

CORE VALUES

Compassion

Compassion is love in action. It means going beyond sympathy and extending genuine care by understanding the feelings of others, recognizing their needs, and responding with kindness. Through compassion, we reflect God’s love by becoming instruments of comfort and support to those who are most in need.

Courage

Courage is the strength to stand firm in truth and goodness. It is the freedom to express one’s thoughts responsibly, the boldness to give and receive fraternal correction, and the integrity to choose what is right even when it is difficult or unpopular. Rooted in Gospel values, courage empowers us to live authentically and faithfully in service of God and others.

Community-orientedness

We believe in the power of unity. By fostering friendship, mutual trust, and respect, we build a community that is interdependent and socially responsive. This value challenges each of us to go beyond personal interests, working together with dedication and shared responsibility to achieve common goals that uplift both the University and society.

Humility

Humility allows us to see ourselves and others through the lens of truth and grace. It teaches us to acknowledge both our strengths and limitations, to welcome correction with openness, and to use every experience as an opportunity for growth. Above all, humility reminds us to be grateful to God who created each of us uniquely for a purpose greater than ourselves.

Interiority

Interiority is the practice of turning inward, encountering our true selves, and allowing God’s presence to transform us. Through prayer, reflection, and contemplative silence, we confront our weaknesses and sinfulness, but also rediscover our dignity as children of God. This journey within leads us to an authentic relationship with Him and guides us to live with clarity and peace.

Missionary Spirit

A missionary spirit calls us to live beyond ourselves, reaching out to others with faith, hope, and love. It is the boldness to respond to the needs of the times, the willingness to witness Christ through our words and actions, and the passion to work for the common good. This spirit drives us to be agents of transformation in the world.
